Easter Eggs Galore

Ashton loves coloring Easter eggs. He gets really into it. While Dominic was taking a nap, Ashton got to work coloring and stickering eggs.

Later on, I was cleaning up the kitchen, when I walked in on Dominic playing with the Easter eggs.
There were none left. They were all smashed into the floor. And Dominic's hair and ears. He was thrilled!

Dominic Gets a Goose Egg

Dominic decided not to heed my advice on staying off the dining room table. This is what happened:

He got a giant goose egg right on his forehead! This picture is a few days after when much of the swelling went down. But I am telling you, that sucker was huge! Do you think he learned a lesson after falling off the table? Nope. Not a bit. He only cried for a few seconds and then climbed right back up. The kid cries more when his brother won't share a toy with him. I CANNOT keep him off the table. I picked up his ride-on toy and put it on the table while I was vacuuming. I turned around to grab the vacuum (I didn't even leave the room, it was right there!) and he was riding it on the table. The kid is fast. I had my back turned for a second. I can't even walk across a room as fast as he can climb a table!

The Boys Just Don't Stop Growing

The boys just won't stop growing. I try to tell them to stay little, but they refuse to listen to me. I am just amazed at each new "big boy" thing they can each do. Such as Dominic's dancing. He has graduated from this:

He used to be content dancing on the play table.

To this:

Now he climbs up on the dining room table and dances, or sits there, or just stands there. Whatever he is in the mood for. And I just can't keep him off!

And then there is Ashton. He has learned how to take pictures all on his own! I am amazed at how well he does. Here is a sample of his work:

Hey, I know it's not the best picture of Paul. But for a three year old with a digital camera, I think it is pretty darn good!

This is a picture of Ashtons most important posession - Gordon (that blue spec of a train is what he was aiming for).

They are just getting so big! The other day, Paul walked into the living room and saw this:

They were sitting on the couch together, sharing a blanket, and watching cartoons.

If I tell Dominic that it is nighty night time, he will walk to his crib all on his own. It is so sweet. I love the fact that they are growing up, but sometimes I feel like it is happening way too fast! I guess I'll just have to cherish every moment and deal with it!

St. Patrick's Day

We had a good St. Patty's Day in the South house. We went to McAllister's Deli for corned beef sandwiches. They were no Slymans, but when in Lafayette. . . For desert I made a mint and chocolate pie. I made the whipped cream green, and it really messed with our minds. Every time we tasted the whipped cream we would taste mint, then realize that it wasn't flavored that way.

Yes, I used a ready made chocolate crust. What can I say, I use shortcuts wherever I can!

Paul and I got in a bit of a whipped cream fight. He started it.

And I continued it.

Monty decided to help clean up reminents of our messy fight. Then Paul decided to get Monty in on the fight. I tried to get a picture of him with a green face, but he started rubbing his messy mug into our freshly cleaned carpet!

My Messy House

Yesterday I picked up all of the toys before I left. I swear. There were no toys on the floor, or pots and pans for that matter. We were only home for a hour, and this is what my house looked like. Yikes!

This is Ashton's room. The table isn't usually in here, but Paul cleaned the living room carpet over the weekend and we hadn't moved it back.

More of Ashton's pig sty!

The entrance to the living room.

The kitchen

What was the cause of this horrendous mess? A tornado? A tasmanian devil? No. It was my boys. Let me just say, I ALWAYS have my work cut out for me!

Take That Ashton!

Since Dominic started crawling around, Ashton has been beating up on his little brother. Lately, Dominic has decided he has had enough and it is time to take back the night! He will attack his big bro for no reason. Any opportunity to smack, kick, jump on, eye gouge, or bite (yes I said bite) and Dominic is all over it. Here are a couple of pictures with Dominic caught in the act.

Ashton was quietly playing trains and BAM, Dominic jumps on his back!

Jumping is not enough. Must bounce on brothers back until he pushes me off and my head hits the floor and I cry.

Who me? I am way to cute and innocent to be an instigator!

The Worst 3rd Birthday Ever!

Last Saturday Ashton turned three years old! Wow, I just can't believe I am a mother to a three year old. Time goes by fast. My mother-in-law flew in for Ashton's birthday, and we were poised to celebrate. Then everything went wrong.

On the way to the airport, Paul got a flat tire. It was only a three month old tire! So while he tended to that situation, his mother caught the shuttle to Lafayette.

Then Ashton got sick. Paul had been sick for a few day and was finally feeling better. Ashton spent his birthday throwing up and laying on the couch. He did manage to feel well enough to open some presents (while wearing a pajama shirt).

Everything he recieved was Thomas related!

We didn't sing happy birthday until Sunday. He only ate about one bite of cake. Poor kid!

Then everyone else got sick. When my mother in law went to fly home, she got to the airport and realized her flight was canceled due to snow. Paul had to drive all the way to Indy to pick her up. The next day he dropped her off and her flight was canceled again! This time she managed to catch a later flight.

Sheesh! What a crazy week.
